Curves in all the right places
A firmly feel-good collection, the playful Pukka bears all the hallmarks of Ligne Roset, the family-run French furniture manufacturer celebrating its 160 year anniversary this Autumn. With its voluptuous 60s-style curves, compact silhouette and supple seat inspired by the flexibility of a sponge, Pukka is as pleasing to the eye as it is to the derrière.
A pioneer of laid-back living, in 1973 Ligne Roset changed the way we lounge with the innovative all-foam Togo. Famed for its collaborations with new and established design talent, Ligne Roset commissioned Canadian studio Yabu Pushelberg to create an anniversary range of upholstery, in the Togo’s spirit of total relaxation. “We chose to work with Yabu Pushelberg as we share a focus on design that improves the way we live, “ explains Ligne Roset’s General Manager, Olivier Roset.
Playing to Ligne Roset’s manufacturing expertise, Pukka combines layers of ultra-flexible foams of varying densities with perfectly executed ultra-tight upholstery, made possible with only stretch fabrics. Best dressed in Gentle, a new stretch wool velvet in a palette of 21 punchy as well as neutral shades, the ultra-lightweight Pukka can be arranged and re-arranged with little effort. With no sharp corners or hard spots, the Pukka lends itself to all layouts, making it ideal for multi-functioning home spaces.
